Shiny Objects & Salvation

I just got back from Mexico City where I was honored to deliver a keynote address for the 1st International Congress on Cultural Heritage and New Technologies (El Primer Congresso Internacional Patrimonio Cultural y las Nuevas Tecnologias). You can view the presentation here: “Shiny Objects and Salvation: Navigating new technologies for intangible cultural heritage preservation.”

Below are several galleries of photos from my trip…

Hotel Geneve

The other keynote speaker, Bernie Frischer, and I stayed at the Hotel Geneve. We ended up spending quite a lot of time in each other’s company during the five days we were in Mexico City.

Catedral Metropolitana de la Asunción de María

Bernie and I were very fortunate to have been able to spend time with Dr. Diego Jiménez-Badillo (see), an archeologist with INAH. He gave us a tour of the National Cathedral…

Templo Mayor

…as well as a personal tour of Templo Mayor where he works. Diego was very kind in giving us such a thorough introduction to the temple site. Thank you, Diego!
